Free Training and Certification Offered to Veterans

By March 1, 2009

Follow me on:

CompTIA is offering free IT training and certification to military veterans.

It's called the Creating Futures program, and CompTIA is looking to provide these no-cost benefits to 300 veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces in 2009.

Creating Futures goes beyond just helping ex-military folks get certified, however; it works with employers to encourage them to hire these newly-certified men and women. Among the freebies are training, mentoring, courseware, practice exams, and certification vouchers.

What a fantastic idea by CompTIA, which deserves congratulations for spending a significant amount of time and money to repay the veterans who have served their country. It's especially welcome in the current economic environment, which could make it hard for many to afford certification training and testing.

Go to CompTIA's Educational Foundation website to apply for the program.
