Cisco Wireless Exam Coming in September
Wednesday April 1, 2009
Wireless communication is getting more popular -- even in the datacenter, traditionally the realm of cables. Toward that end, Cisco is creating a new exam. It's called CCNP Wireless, and is scheduled to go live in September.
CCNP stands for Cisco Certified Network Professional. That makes it a step up from the lower-level CCNA, or Cisco Certified Network Associate, designation. Although the website doesn't explicitly state the requirements, it implies that holding the CCNA Wireless certification will be a prerequisite toward getting the CCNP Wireless.
The focus of the credential, Cisco says, is making sure that title-holders can make wireless networks "secure, cost-effective, and reliable."
More details of the certification are expected to be released at the upcoming Cisco Live! show in June in San Francisco.

I have information regarding the new CCNP Wireless in my blog that shows the four exams needed to achieve the new Wireles cert.
