Oracle Dumps Prometric

From Keith Ward, About.com GuideSeptember 7, 2009

Oracle will no longer be using Prometric as its exam provider. The company announced that after Sept. 25, it will have a new exam provider. It hasn't announced who the provider will be yet, but said to expect to hear something early this month.

Oracle did not say in the blog posting why Prometric was being replaced. It did try and set test-takers' minds at ease, however; the same testing ID that a candidate had previously will be valid at the new test vendor.

Oracle also appears to be making the transition as easy as possible in other ways. For instance, all testing history and records won't be affected, since that data resided with Oracle. If you have an exam scheduled with Prometric before Sept. 25, you can still take it; if it's scheduled to happen after that date, you'll need to cancel your Prometric appointment and reschedule with the new testing partner.

All exam fees will remain the same, as those fees are set by Oracle. The new provider will also offer all the exams offered by Prometric.
