AIS: Advanced Information Security Certification
Description: Security University offers the AIS certification, which recognizes proficiency in information security risk management and prevention. A series of eight courses confirm an individual's proficiency for planning, implementing, building and maintaining security applications and technologies. The AIS is an advanced security certification, and requires expert knowledge of security technologies. Other security certs such as SAS or GIAC provide a good foundation for the AIS.
Requirements:
  • You must attend eight classes on the AIS roadmap. You must pass an exam upon completion of each course.
  • The combination of eight courses and eight exams makes up the AIS certification.
Sample Curriculum: A sample curriculum looks like this:
  • Network Penetration Testing Methods
  • Network Firewall & VPN Security
  • Virus Analysis, Patch Management, & Incident Response
  • PKI II: PKI Exposed
  • Intrusion Detection II: Systems to Monitor Your Network
  • Computer Forensic Investigations & Incident Response
  • Applied Network Security Policy
  • Applied Architecture Security
Costs: Exams are included in the price of the course. Class prices run $1,200 to 2,500 each.
Recertification: There are no recertification requirements.
