BEA Certified Developer
 
Definition: BEA systems develops products and services designed to support application infrustructure. A BEA certification will demonstrate knowledge with the BEA WebLogic® Enterprise Platform. Recent changes to the certification program require that candidates attend at least two training courses to recieve a BEA certification. Only the BEA Certified Specialist: Server level also requires an exam. Once you have completed the courses you will be required to fill out an online form to recieve the certification and welcome package.

Certifications Offered :

  • BEA Certified Specialist: Server - This certification effectively replaces the Certified Developer certification and is geared towards those who will install, develop, deploy, and monitor Web Applications and Enterprise JavaBeans in a WebLogic Server 7.0 environment.
  • BEA Certified Specialist: Integration - Integration takes the Server cert a couple of steps forward and is for those who will be building interactive portals and adaptable web applications.
  • BEA Certified Specialist: Portal - This level is desiged for anyone expected to develop communication and business process solutions.
  • BEA Certified Specialist: Tuxedo -Expect to learn all there is to know about installing, developing and configuiring BEA Tuxedo applications.
  • BEA Certified Administrator - This is a J2EE specific cert and will teach you to install, configure, administer, and monitor applications in a production environment.
  • BEA Certified Architect - Designed for team leads and designers, this certification encompasses many of the skills defined in the preceeding certs and will ensure that you know how to define risks, devise strategies, design and develop solutions around enterprise production environments.

*If you currently have a BEA Certified Developer certification for Weblogic 7, you will be granted a BEA Certified Specialist certification. There are several details regarding previous certifications and versions. If you have questions, BEA has provided a helpful FAQ.

To Obtain:

You must complete the 7.0 Mandatory training courses as well as any one elective course, as indicated in the following table. Click on a course to open an Adobe Acrobat file at the BEA certification site and view the course objectives.

**BEA participates in the jCert certification at the 3B level of Enterprise Developer certification. The exam required for the Specialist: Server certification can be applied to the jCert. The Training courses do not apply.
