This certification requires three exams, and although it's not required, a CCNA is a recommended prerequisite. You will have to recertify every three years by taking the CCIP recertification exam.
To Obtain:
- You must first earn the CCNA certification.
- Must pass the Building Scalable Cisco Networks (BSCI) exam #641-901.
- Must pass the Multicast and Cisco QOS exam #640-905.
- Must pass either either a Cable, MPLS, or Security elective.
- Each exam costs approximately $125.
- Must recertify every 3 years by passing the CCIP recertification exam.
