Definition: The cSage certification is vendor-neutral and is designed for junior-level system administrators. Appropriate for entry-level professionals or college graduates, the cSage will demonstrate your knowledge of the basic skills needed for system administration and can be used as a stepping stone to the mSage which is currently in development.

To Obtain:

  • Pass the vendor-neutral core exam.
  • Pass the platform-specific exam (either Unix or Microsoft).
  • Fulfill the experience requirement which states that you have experience as a "system administrator serving either in a paid position, student, or volunteer capacity."
  • Each exam costs $225.

The core exam covers:

  • Data management
  • User Support/Help Desk
  • Network management
  • Document Management and Workflow
  • Process, Automation, Performance and Server Mgmt
  • Security
  • Network-Based Services
