Get five certifications in five steps. It will take 11 exams and around $1375 in exam fees but if you pay attention to your electives, a path such as this will save you study time and money. Look at the graphic toward the bottom of the page for a visual layout of how the exams overlap.

Step 3. MCSE
70-216 (Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure), 70-217 (Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure ), 70-220 (Designing Security for a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network), 70-029 (Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 )

Follow the arrows and corresponding colors to see which exams overlap for each certification. This is only applicable for the MCSA, MCSE, MCSD, and MCDBA. Once you pass the MCP, there are no overlapping exams for the MCAD. Sample path to multiple certifications:
