SAS is software for information delivery in the enterprise. The software is built around data access, data management, data analysis and data presentation. SAS is quite often used for statistical analysis.
SAS offers the following computer certifications:
2 Core Certifications Level I
- SAS Certified Professional v8: The required exam is Core concepts v8 exam(A00-801). Some of the skills tested are: import and export of raw data files and the ability to created reports with SAS procedures.
- SAS Certified Professional v6: The required SAS specialty exam is SAS certified professional v6 exam(A00-001).
Several specialty certifications also exist(Level II):
- SAS Certified Professional - Data Management v6 with the required exam: Data management v6 Exam(A))-002) This exam is for individuals with intermediate to advanced skills to assess your knowledge of data management tools. Some of the skills tested are the ability to write and interpret SAS SQL code, create macro variables,and use SAS/Access software.
- SAS Certified Professional - Business Intelligence v6 with the required exam Business Intelligence v6(A00-003). The certification assesses the candidates knowledge of SAS statements to produce graphs and reports.
- SAS Certified Professional - Application Development v6
The required exam for this certification is Application Development v6 exam(A00-004). The exam tests a candidates knowledge of graphical user interface(GUI) apprications using SAS/AF software.
- SAS Certified Developer v6
In order to earn the certification the candidate must pass one of the core exams and all three level II exams.
The exam registration is available by Prometric. SAS provides free sample questions to assist the candidate with passing the exam.
All of the SAS exams are computer based and consists of 50-70 multiple choice questions. Each exam takes two hours or less to complete.
