PrepLogic has done a great job with this software. The download and installation were a breeze. Everything runs as expected and has a professional look and feel. Once installed, the software will automatically alert you if any new updates are available for the exam. Any updates are downloaded easily (it took less than five minutes with a DSL connection) and your software is kept up-to-date with very little effort.

The rest of the interface is clean and relatively intuitive. You are given the choice of three exams with 72 questions each or the option to create a custom practice test which draws from the entire pool of 216 questions. There are two study modes offered: practice test and flash review. This test simulator is not as feature packed as some others, but the questions, answers, and references are excellent. I would like to have seen a way to save the exam you are working on and the ability to store notes with a question. Currently, once you end the exam, you must start over and finish completely to get an accurate score. The way around this is to create a custom exam with only the number of questions you have time to answer. You can mark a question for review but cannot store any notes related to that question.

Although there are a few less bells and whistles, this software is very reasonably priced in comparison to it's more feature laden competitors. PrepLogic's Network+ exam is only $49. Transcender offers their Network+ exam for $119 while SelfTestSoftware offers theirs for $99.

Bottom Line

If you are looking for a bargain, then give PrepLogic a try. The prices are great and the content of the practice tests is excellent. Most of their products hover around the $50 mark, which is really unbeatable. PrepLogic was recently selected to provide practice tests for the ExamCram 2 series of books. The reviews have been excellent and I encourage you to download a free demo to view the quality of the questions. More questions would be great. Some more features would be terrific. This one almost earned four stars just for price but it is really just a capable test simulator, not an outstanding one.
