Guide Review - Exam Prep CCENT Book Review
One of my favorite things about this book are the many useful tools that you find scattered through each chapter. You will start each chapter with the typical objectives and outlines but get a bonus section on study strategies that give you a heads up on what to focus on for the exam. Throughout the chapters, in addition to the usual tips there are "Exam Alerts", "Challenges", and "Step-by-Step" sections that will make you pause and really think about the material you are reading. At the end of the chapters, again you get the usual; a summary, key terms, and review questions. You also get in-depth exercises and open-ended questions that really test your ability to absorb information. A small section on suggested reading will point you to websites and publications that offer additional information and other helpful resources. All of this makes this a very interactive study guide that feels less like poring over a text than working in a classroom.
My only gripe with this book was that the accompanying CD didn't work on my Mac and crashed in Windows Parallel. However, I hear that it has some practice questions from MeasureUp and a few other features. It looks like the usual fare offered with this type of study guide.
