Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Description: This certification is designed for experienced professionals who are responsible for developing the information security policies, standards, and procedures and managing their implementation across an organization.
Requirements:
  • Must have four years (or 3 years with a college degree or equivalent life experience) of direct work experience in one or more of the ten test domains of the information systems security Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).
  • Must subscribe to the (ISC)² code of ethics.
  • Must pass the CISSP exam. The exam lasts up to six hours, and includes 250 multiple choice questions.
Costs: The CISSP exam costs $450. Last minute registration costs an additional $100.
Recertification: Every three years recertification is required. You must earn 120 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits and pay the $85 recertification fee.
