Description: The CCENT is offered by Cisco as an entry level certification that provides a stepping stone to the CCNA. It is designed to test you on your network support skills. You will need to know the ins and outs of installing, operating and troubleshooting a small enterprise branch network.
Requirements: There are no requirements before taking the 640-822 ICND1 exam. However, once you take this exam you can take the ICND2 exam to achieve the CCNA.
Costs: The ICND1 and ICND2 exams are $125 USD each.
Recertification: From Cisco.com, "To recertify, pass either the ICND1 or ICND2 exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam."
