The Certified Internet Webmaster certifications
are offered by Prosoft and are a vendor neutral certification designed
to show proficiency in internet technologies. The
following information should help you decide if the CIW is right for you
and give you the information you need to proceed on the path towards a
CIW certification.
CIW
Associate
This
is the most basic and fundamental part of the CIW path to certification.
The Associate level requires on exam and is designed to test basic knowledge
of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and Web authoring using
HTML. This level is required before moving on to higher-level certs including
the i-Accelerate, Professional, Master, or Security Analyst designations.

CIW
Professional
The CIW Professional
level is the next step towards the Master level designation. Once the
foundation exam is passed, you will hold this certification when you have

CIW
Master Certification
The
Master level certification is acheived after completing the training and
passing the exams required for one of four Master tracks: Master Designer,
Master Administrator, Master Enterprise Developer, Master Web Site Manager,
and Security Analyst.
Master
Administrator: Made up of three five-day training groups. Each group
requires one exam at its finale and is based on an Internet job role:
Server Administrator, Internetworking Professional, and Security Professional.

Master

CIW
Master Security Analyst
The
Master Security Analyst designation is for those who have already shown
proficiency in networking administration and want to pursue a certification
in security. To acheive this certification you must pass one exam and
hold one of the following certifications:

costs are just that: approximate. There are a wide variety of training
options available both online and from training centers. The cost
of each certification will vary greatly based on your level of experience
and the resources you choose. I used the ComputerPrep study series as
an example because it is recommended by the CIW
site and freely posts it pricing online.
